This historic brand was initially founded in 1925 under the name of James Aubert SA in the "Vallée de Joux", also known as "the world of mechanical watches". James Aubert himself was the watch technician within the company and was responsible for various technological developments and innovations in this area. Aubert transferred the company to his son-in-law Jean Fillon, who subsequently became the leading watchmaker at Epos watches for many years. He was responsible for many exceptional innovations from Epos.

In 1983, specialist technician Peter Hofer and his wife Erna started the company Montres EPOS SA, in close collaboration with Jean Fillon. After 2000 Peter Hofer searched for a successor for his work at Epos and found it in Ursula Foster, from a family of watchmakers. Together with her husband, she continued the innovative company with the aim of always making Epos watches with quality timepieces and advanced technology. In addition, the designs had to be affordable and people wanted to stay true to the slogan within the company: "the artistry of watchmaking", according to Swiss tradition.

The Epos watch collection consists of both classic and modern watches. The watches are equipped with high-quality Swiss made movements and therefore very reliable and durable. Most watches from Epos have a special classic look and almost all Epos watches have a "see through" back. The decoration of the watches is done carefully and often by hand for a perfect finishing touch.
